Saturday night was one of the best nights of my entire life. It started out with an amazing service at Solid Rock downtown. Mom and I had been working hard at moving all day, but we knew that just relaxing on the couch wouldn’t fill our heart and renew our strength like spending time worshipping with other believers. So, we went. On the way home we decided to stop and pick up Baja Fresh, which by the way is much harder than it seems in downtown Portland. I am really going to have to get used to a little thing called traffic lights and pedestrians who ALWAYS have the right-of-way. Living in the country for 12 years has been a blessing, but now I have to get reacquainted with city life. Anyways, due to the complete lack of parking places, we finally decided I would have to just jump out of the car and Mom would circle the block until I came out. So, I flew out of the car with only my phone and $20, this is relevant, I promise! Just as I got into the restaurant I received a phone call from a young man who was staying at our house over the weekend as an alternative to sleeping in his car. That whole situation is a completely separate story...which I will probably blog about later. I never even considered not ordering food for this young man, and also never considered I wouldn’t have enough money to...I stepped up to the counter and ordered 3 burritos, and guacamole (only because Mom really wanted it :)
The man behind the counter says "ok, your total is 23.09" I stared down at the $20 in my hand. Any other day, any other situation, I would probably be with my Mom in the restaurant and at least one of us would have our purse and an extra $3.09, but not today. but...GOD IS GOOD!!!
The man then informed me that it was my lucky day and that someone had left a coupon for $5 off and that I could use it! The Lord recognized that my Mom and I were helping out this young man and providing him with a bed and food to eat and He, in turn, gave me $5 off my order! WOW God! I just cant get over how amazing he is. It may seem like a coincidence to some, but I know that my God is watching out for me in Heaven.
